Awakened Bites' main focus is to help people who are struggling to improve their eating habits.

There are many reasons people decide that they need to change their diet, often it is due to ill health and medical necessity, sometimes it will be due to family demands, other times it can be a desire born from ethical values. Whatever, the reason, it can often come as a bit of a shock to the system - and frequently you'll need to learn new ways to cook and live your life. It is at this stage that many fall down because they do not have the help or support they need to encourage them through the learning curve.
This is where Awakened Bites will help you. We pride ourselves on creating dishes that are healthy, yet so tasty that even people not partaking in the restricted diet love them. We will work with you to find dishes that are easy for you to cook - pitched at your level, and that fit into your busy lifestyle. If you need to cook for others, like family members - then we will find dishes they will like too, so you are not cooking lots of separate dishes. And if you need it, we offer one on one cooking lessons, so you can hit the ground running.

A BIT ABOUT ME
Awakened Bites came into fruition in 2020, but in reality, I've been working close to 11 years creating varied meal plans that heal the body whilst still tasting so good my young son and family still enjoy them.

My journey with food began almost 11 years ago when my son developed an array of medical complications that meant he needed to stop eating dairy and sugar - the smallest helping of sugar needed to be avoided - he couldn't even eat a shop-bought breadstick! For a young boy who loved chocolate, this was devastating. So I went on a mission to find dishes that tasted as 'normal', fun, and as tasty as possible, whilst being sugar-free. This taught me to cook in an entirely new way, with fresh produce, and from scratch. I was determined to use healthy products, not artificial sweeteners. It was a steep learning curve and I learnt an awful lot.
Later on, due to a toxic work environment and high stress, I developed my own health issues, and again diet became a critical element in managing them. The silver lining to this difficult period of my life is that I acquired a vast array of knowledge on how to create healthy meals, that helped me manage a whole host of health issues - such as pain management, sleep issues, lethargy, inflammation, dental issues, mental health, etc.
This experience, taught me I have a talent that I love to share. I get a buzz from inviting friends and family around to eat, and having them guess which dishes are 'health' dishes - often or not they are unable to and instead are more interested in receiving second helpings. This is how Awakened Bites came into being, from this love, and desire to help others and share my food.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE
I will work with you to find dishes that are easy for you to cook - pitched at your level, and that fit into your busy lifestyle.
First, we will have a consultation where we'll discuss a number of topics: your eating habits, food preferences, life constraints (e.g.needing to cook for a family), and health needs. This enables me to create a perfect peronsalised meal plan to suit you and your lifestyle.
Additionally, if you need it, you have the option for one on one cooking lessons, to teach you how to cook the recipes so you can hit the ground running.
